The Return of Glastonbury: 2019 Edition Rumours

We don’t know about you, but the fallow year of Glastonbury has hit us hard. Although the organisers are taking a well-earned break from the planning of (arguably) the hugest festival on the calendar, we cannot wait for the return of this event in 2019.
The dates have been released for the next edition, so we can officially get excited about Glastonbury again! The chosen time-slot for this huge event is 26 – 30 June, so keep your diary free during these dates, because you will not want to miss this fundamental festival of fun.
Earlier this year Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis spoke at the VO5 NME Awards and gave away a few tidbits of information about the 2019 edition, claiming there will be “two or three [acts] that have never played” whilst referring specifically to the headliners.
This of course has led to much speculation about the line-up and the rumour mill has been in a frenzy.
Despite his mention of the headliners, Michael didn’t specify a genre: “Headliners should be the best artists around – whether they’re rappers, pop stars or rock bands,” he said. “The genre is irrelevant – it’s about who is going to produce the most exciting show and is making the best music.”
Suggestions for the headliners have been varied – people have speculated about many artists – but who it will be remains to be seen. Madonna, Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney and The Stone Roses are amongst those in the mix of rumoured headlining acts.
Glastonbury 2019 will take place, as usual, as its traditional home of Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. Who will headline is of course TBC, but that won’t stop us from playing the guessing game in the meantime…
