Artist: Alessia Cara
The Pains of Growing is the second studio album by Alessia Cara, released on November 30, through Def Jam. It was supported by the singles “Growing Pains” and “Trust My Lonely”. Its official music video received a nomination for Best Cinematography at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.
“Growing Pains”, the album’s lead single, was released on June 15 and serviced to American hot adult contemporary radio on June 25. “Growing Pains” is a pop song with influences of R&B. Lyrically, the song discusses a loss of innocence and the “inevitable struggle of growing up.
This album, called The Pains of Growing, reflects some of that solemnity, but it’s leavened with sprightly sonic details and optimism about the future. That emotional range is the stuff of growing up, and it’s also contained in the songs themselves.
The amazing tracks of other songs are Not Today, I Don’t Want To, 7 Days,Trust My Lonely, Wherever I Live, All We Know, A Little More, Comfortable, Nintendo Game, Out of Love, Girl Next Door, My Kind and Easier Said.
