The Owners of the American Horror Story's House Start a Legal Battle

The current owners of the ‘American Horror Story’ “murder house” from season one are taking legal actions against its previous owners for not disclosing that the house was used in Ryan Murphy’s horror series.
Like other real life locations used to create famous film and television shows, the landmark became a hot destination for fans of ‘American Horror Story’. Purchased for $3.2m, the mansion has served as a tourist attraction for fans who, according to the suit, “trespass, attempt to break in, and [create] a significant nuisance.”
The couple who purchased the Rosenheim Mansion in 2015, Dr. Ernst R. von Schwarz and Pier Angela Oakenfold, have filed a suit at LA County Superior Court claiming that they were not informed of the home’s horror past, neither of the presence of two ghosts haunting the home.
The Tudor Gothic-style home dates from 1902 and has six bedrooms and five bathrooms. It was previously used as a convent and has an adjoining chapel. Although the pilot episode was filmed on location at the house, the rest of the season was made on replica sets.
Season 8 of the horror anthology series, expected to air sometime in the fall of 2018, will be set in the future. The executive producer also revealed that the new installement will be quite unsettling.
