The National Pet Show Returns – Bigger & Better Than Ever

The fifth edition of the National Pet Show is coming back to Birmingham, NEC on 3 and 4 November this year and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Supported by headline sponsor PDSA Petsurance, the pet show is moving on from just showcasing gorgeous cats and dogs and looking into more exotic species, like ponies and pythons, chickens and chincillas and many more.
Animal lovers of all ages, come along to this pet heaven, where you can learn more and experience fascinating talks from experts, enjoy interactive demonstrations and view jaw-dropping animal displays.
Children will get to enjoy the specially built ‘Noel’s Ark’, hosted by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, the Supervet. Autumnwatch TV presenter Michaela Strachan will host SuperDogs Live, a fantastic live show celebrating the nation’s love of dogs.
Finally, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Lucy Heath and little furry superstar Trip Hazard will enthral visitors with their dancing routines. These are just a few of the experiences prepared for show-goers, with many more to come.
The rehoming of pets from rescue charities will take prevalence, with the show’s Animal Rescue Barn, which aims to matchmake as many animals and new owners as possible during the weekend. Aided by pet experts, you will find the perfect pet for you, which takes into consideration both lifestyle and psychological factors.
The main activity ring will include amazing dog agility performances and displays from adorable miniature horses, as well as the Temptation Alley, where dogs have to run the gauntlet of toys and treats.
Dogs with Jobs will present remarkable canines who work for a living. That includes police dogs who detect criminal evidence and sniff out explosives and drugs; search & rescue dogs who locate people in dangerous situations or remote places; service dogs, who assist people with disabilities, and therapy dogs who work in hospitals, nursing homes, schools and more.
The All About sector will host talks on owning a huge variety of pets, where visitors can learn about reptiles, spiders, bugs, lizards, birds and the bees.
People can get to talk to dog breeders from giants to miniature and smooth to shaggy at the Dog Village. This year will also host a brand new dog runway, where vulnerable breeds of all shapes and sizes will be walked up and down by their owners.
The Cat Village is there for the cat people, and the International Cat Show, a championship show for the country’s finest pedigrees, returns by popular demand.
The National Pet Show is the best time to enjoy some nice furry pets, and do some serious pre-Christmas shopping.
