Currently, on “Walkout Wednesday,” half a million public sector employees protested about salary and working conditions. This strike is marking the as largest day of industrial action in Britain in ten years.

Teachers, professors, government employees, and train drivers all around the country stopped working. And many of them gathered for sizable demonstrations in cities including London, Cardiff, Brighton, Liverpool, Newcastle, and others.

The TUC charged that “Cabinet of Millionaires” in the Tory administration was unable to comprehend the effects of declining wages. And double-digit hyperinflation on disadvantaged vital workers.

General Secretary Paul Nowak delivered a 200,000-signature petition to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, surrounded by striking teachers and paramedic workers. However, pleading with him to rescind the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill.

After getting hurried through Commons previously this week, the law got expected to encounter strong resistance in the British parliament. According to the train drivers’ union Aslef, it would elevate workers to the level of “slaves.”

The Bill would give employers the authority to fire workers for refusing to cross their personal picket lines. And offer a particular quality of service during walkouts. According to general secretary Mick Whelan could essentially outlaw industrial action.

He cautioned, “If you have no right to strike, then you’re a slave.”

The working class “is back,” according to Mick Lynch, president of the action’s additional participating rail union, RMT.

He remarked, “Every worker deserves a wage hike, each worker needs a straight deal,” when addressing striking employees in Westminster. Some of whom were holding “pay up” banners.

We won’t go to split apart. The working class is returning, so we’re back. We are here, we’re demanding change, and no one and nothing can buy us. And we’re going to prevail on behalf of our people in accordance with our demands.

Lesley McGorrigan stated that coordinated action amongst unions is “exactly what we need – workers coming together.

She informed the news media, “I think the TUC will accomplish more.”

“Everyone is suffering as a result of what the government and employers are doing. It is obvious, with people getting trampled and money increasing.”

She also added, “Hard-hitting measures to force the bosses to back down is how to win,”

Although emphasizing that “We are winning,” Ms. Reay said that ministers were “reaching beyond Thatcher’s wildest ambitions.

“The Tories fight us while we’re winning because a furious worker is the only thing they fear.”
