The series of events triggered by her apprehension send Emira into a state of aimlessness and she starts to question everyone around her, even Alix’s. However, as time passes a connection is forged between them that makes them question everything – who they are, and how privilege dynamics colour all aspects of their lives.
People have been going crazy over this book and I do not blame them. It is so incredibly nuanced and engaging, thoroughly thought-provoking. An immersive reading experience. With its plot twists and rich themes, it will have anyone who reads it gripped from start to finish. A thrilling page-turner! It is current and it will greatly appeal to millennials as well as a wider readership. It’s a fantastic debut and readers will be eagerly waiting to see what Reid can produce next.
