Spice Girls’ Comeback Through An Animated Movie

The ’90s Girl Power group Spice Girls are working on an animated movie by Paramount where they are giving their voices to the superheroes of the film. Through this work the Spice Girls are reuniting after more than two decades, including Posh a.k.a. Victoria Beckham.

The movie is produced by mogul Simon Fuller and the screenplay is written by Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith, whose credits include ‘The House Bunny’ and ‘Legally Blonde’.

It is a part of Paramount’s upcoming animated feature series and is based on Rob Harrell’s graphic novel ‘Monster on a Hill’.

The movie still has not selected any director and no story details have been released yet.

Spice Girls’ classics in addition to new songs will be back through this movie, but it will not be released before 2020.

“The band had an idea that we’ve been developing. They are very involved,” said Mireille Soria, the president of Paramount Animation, to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film will cover authentic hits from the group in addition to bespoke songs and is stated to be a passion project for the girls who formulated the idea.

The Spice Girls’ previous cult hit ‘Spice World’, loosely based on their own lives and released back in 1997, took $151m at the global box office and $100m in DVD sales. Kim Fuller notably wrote the screenplay for ‘Spice World.’
