Artist: Swamp Dogg
Swamp Dogg’s career must beat almost every other artist out of sight. Sorry You Couldn’t Make It (a classic in waiting) is his 23rd album including compilations. And that’s just as Swamp Dogg. Before that he was recording as Little Jerry Williams cutting his first record in the 50s at the age of just 12. That’s quite amazing. As is the fact that this latest offering sounds fresh and relevant. There’s a hint of sepia in terms of style but if retro with a twist is your thing then this is for you. Sorry You Couldn’t Make It is a fine R&B album from an artist that was around almost before the term was even invented.
