On that email account are the secret messages between him and the elusive Blue, but, more importantly, the revelation that they’re both gay.
Albertalli tackles the difficult subjects of coming out and first loves with honesty and humour. Simon’s life isn’t bogged down with darkness, but instead is a wonderful way of showing both the struggles and triumphs of simply being young. ‘Simon Vs.’ is a delightful Young Adult novel that will enchant readers of any age. Catch the movie adaptation ‘Love, Simon’ when it hits theatres March 16th.
