Self Care Week is an annual national awareness week, focuses on embedding support for self care across communities, families and generations, especially for those who suffer with eating disorders. A £500 prize is available for the winner of the best Self Care Week initiative.
Various isolating serious mental illnesses can take a serious toll on people’s self-esteem and manipulate people into thinking they don’t deserve nice things or the help and support of others. At Beat this event promote the importance of self-care and the hope of recovery through their helpline services which support people affected by eating disorders 365 days a year. Their vision is a society where people with eating disorders experience care and understanding, and where they can quickly access the treatment and support they deserve.
