‘Riverdale’ and ‘90210’ Star Luke Perry Dies Following Stroke

American actor Luke Perry best known for his roles in “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Riverdale”died on March 4th, Monday, at the age of 52 following a massive stroke he had on last week.
This versatile actor had been under observation in Los Angeles Hospital on Wednesday but the situation didn’t improve till then.
Perry was taken ill the same day that Fox television announced it was reviving the “Beverly Hills 90210” series with many of the original cast, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling. Perry was not among those announced as returning for the limited run of six new episodes this summer.
On Wednesday, March 6th, Perry’s son, Jack, 21, posted a message to his Instagram account. “He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad,” he began.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time”, said his publicist Arnold Robinston.
On Monday afternoon, wishes from the world of show business for Perry’s convalescence turned to posts of shock and condolence as they were mourning the death of this amazing actor.
Tributes came flooding in following news of Perry’s death, led by his co-stars on 90210 and on Riverdale, the television series based on the Archie comics in which he plays Archie’s father.
Shannen Doherty, who co-starred with Perry on the series, posted on Instagram last week a picture of the two in the show and the message “you got this”.
The actor Yvette Nicole Brown tweeted: “You were loved by me and countless others” and added in another post that “there are no words”.
