K-Pop senastions Red Velvet are taking the world by storm, a little piece at a time. Having conquered their homeland, it’s now Japan’s turn, which is where this globally released mini album is really aimed. What you get is three new songs and three previous hits but re-recorded in Japanese. It’s a clever marketing ploy that some may find a bit cynical, however there’s no doubting how well this five piece works as a unit. Catchy pop tunes aimed at young teens are balanced by flashes of a more mature side, something the group has been careful to cultivate. Cute K-Pop at it’s best.
