Rapper Dies at the Age 34 after Falling off Plane Wing during Video Shoot

A Canadian rapper, Jon James McMurray, 34, has died after falling off the wing of a plane while shooting a music video, his management team said.
The rapper was filming in British Columbia on Saturday (20 October) when he fell from the plane.
“He had trained intensely for this stunt but as Jon got further out onto the wing of the plane, it caused the small Cessna to go into a downward spiral that the pilot couldn’t correct,” said the statement, published alongside an online fundraiser to raise money for funeral costs and to release James’s new music.
McMurray’s management ensured The plane and the pilot both landed safely and no one else was injured in the accident.
“His passion for making music videos and performing stunts were combined, and Jon pushed music in a new direction that was uncharted territory,” the statement continued.
A fund page named GoFundMe has been set up to help celebrate his life and “get his stuff out there to the world in the right way.” The page’s target is $10 million CAD (£5.9 million) – at the time of reporting, $1,085 (£638) has been raised.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Kelly Brett said, Police, the coroners’ service, and the Transportation Safety Board are all investigating McMurray’s death.
