What> In the remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary cultural shows and poetry recitations are organized. This great scholar and the noble laureate born on 25th day of Bengali month Baishakh and this year is 158th Birth Anniversary. The songs (Rabindra Sangeet), poetries, skits, dances and dramas, written and composed by Tagore, are organized in cultural, social and educational institutions and theaters, as a tribute to Tagore and his works.
It is celebrated all over India, Bangladesh and among the Bengalies around the world. The main venues are Shantiniketan, Visva-Bharati University, Jorasanko Thakurbari, and Rabindra Sadan. Some organizations are followed by the distribution of awards. The celebration continues from dawn to dusk.
