Percentage of Dengue Patient Breaks all Previous Record in Dhaka

Dengue breaks out tremendously in the Capital of Bangladesh which causes a heavy load of patients admitted in the hospitals. Though every year in July, Dengue becomes the talk of the city but this year it breaks all previous record.
Every day over 150 patients are admitted in the hospitals and the number is increasing day by day. This year already 4,248 Dengue patients had been admitted at the hospitals in the capital where 2,164 patients are admitted only in July, according to the health ministry.
“The 2-city corporation are responsible for this. Their negligence against Dengue and lack of proper initiatives to kill mosquito habitats cause this situation”, said Jamil Ahmed, a Dengue patient.
According to the Health Ministry, under Dhaka north city corporation (DNCC) Tejgaon, Turag, Pollobi, Moghbazar, Uttora, Gulshan, Bonani, Kafrul, Khilgaon, Rampura, Mirpur, Pirerbag, Mohammadpur, Sheorapara, kajipara is the reddest zone for the habitats of Aedes mosquito.
Under Dhaka south city corporation (DSCC) Doyaganj, Narinda, Shamibag, Basabo, Maniknagar, Bissoroad, Hajaribag, Moghbazar, Romna, Segunbagicha, Shahbag is the reddest zone. Though a survey was done previously for Dengue but no measurement has been taken yet.
Professor Dr. A.B.M Abdullah, former Din of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University said, “this year the body temperature of a patient is not rising so high but after 2/3 days Platelets of blood reduces which increases the risk of Hemrejik”
“When the fever is down the patient thought that he is fully cure but it is the most critical period and they need to be more careful this time and should continue to consult the doctors”, he added.
This year already 3 people have been killed due to Dengue.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurates a 15-day medical test program titled ‘Special Primary Treatment Service 2019’ at Nagar Bhaban on Monday. A hotline number (09711000999) has also been opened for public in this regard.
“From this month 68 mobile medical teams would be working for identifying Dengue infected patients and 476 health centers would give primary treatment to them”, said DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon.
“Everyone is allowed to receive treatment from our health centers. If any patient is unable to come to the camp, then they can inform us using the hotline number, and our medical team will go to the house to provide free treatment”, the mayor added.
