The NHS puts up an official warning for those with a history of allergies to not take jabs of the Pfizer vaccine. Anika Khan reports.
- The UK became the first Western country to kick off the first vaccination program against the global pandemic that killed over 1.5 million people worldwide.
- However, people with allergies have been alerted as two health service workers who took the Pfizer vaccine started experiencing allergic symptoms on Wednesday. Both of the Health service workers have a history of allergic reactions in the past for which they took adrenaline auto-injectors.
- The leaflet with the Pfizer vaccine clearly states that patients with allergies to any substances in the vaccine should not take the vaccine. This raises questions about the selection process of the NHS authorities.
- The patient information leaflet warns people with signs of allergies, including itchiness of the skin, shortness of breath, and swelling of the tongue and face.
All the trusts have been advised to not give jabs to people with a history of allergic reactions.
