Original Cast of 'Once Upon A Time' are Returning for the Series Finale

Former ‘Once Upon A Time’ stars Jennifer Morrison, Ginner Goodwin, Josh Dallas, and Emilie de Ravin have all been confirmed to return for the show’s final episode, which is set to air on 18 May.
Previously, Tony Amendola, Lee Arenberg, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Robbie Kay, Sean Maguire, Victoria Smurfit, Keegan Tracy, Beverley Elliott, and Jared Gilmore were all confirmed to appear in the final two episodes.
Many of the original actors left the series after season six, when their contracts expired, and it was uncertain whether they would actually come back for the final episode, called “Leaving Storybrooke.”
“Seven years after we set off on this magical journey, we prepare to say goodbye to the cast, crew and writers that made the ‘happily ever after’ that is ‘Once Upon A Time’ possible,” executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis said of the original cast members returning.
“We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to say farewell than by reuniting so many of the characters that our fiercely loyal fans spent years with on their adventures. We hope everyone joins our Once family, old and new, for what we hope will be the sendoff of a lifetime befitting this stellar cast and its incomparable fans.”
While the writers clearly want to provide some closure to long-time fans, they have already warned that the re-appearance of classic characters doesn’t mean all of the ‘Once Upon A Time’ mysteries will be solved. They are not closing the book entirely, rather leaving it a little bit open in case there is a potential reunion down the road.
ABC announced in February that ‘Once Upon A Time’ would not be returning after its seventh season – that it would be the show’s last. The series finale will air over two weeks, on Friday 11 May and 18 May at 8pm. Netflix streams the show in the UK.
