Artist, Paul Weller
Paul Weller has now put out nine more solo albums than he released with The Jam which is a fact some might find quite surprising. He’s had some major chart-toppers too including the acclaimed Stanley Road. The ageing punk has grown old rather gracefully and sadly that shows a bit with this latest record. The songs are fine but unremarkable. Weller’s voice is pretty much as you’d expect. The only thing keeping this afloat and out of total obscurity is the fact that it’s a Paul Weller album. Close but no cigar, maybe the sun really is setting on what has been an illustrious career.
