New York African Film Festival

16 May
Various venues in New York, NY 10023, USA
The New York African Film Festival celebrates its milestone 25th edition from 16 May – 10 June. The festival will feature new and classic African cinema, with a special focus on intergenerational discourse, presenting works by women and younger generations of African diaspora artists. This year, the festival will also feature films that celebrate the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. As in previous years, the festival program will include screenings and discussions with filmmakers and artists, panels and an art exhibit.
This festival is co-presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the African Film Festival, to recognize and support new filmmakers and enhance awareness, accessibility and understanding of the art among a broad and diverse audience.
