A rise in new coronavirus cases in China and South Korea have sparked fears that the world may be heading for a second wave as lockdown eases in multiple countries across the globe. Tara Pilkington reports.
In many cases, the first wave is still building, as India, Ukraine and Egypt have reported their highest numbers of new cases yet. The 57 new confirmed infections in China, 36 from Beijing, are the highest total in the country for two months.
Johns Hopkins University in the US has recently calculated that there were more than 100,000 new cases daily around the globe.

In South Korea, 34 new cases were reported which have been linked to nightclubs and churches, both of which had recently reopened due to lockdown being eased. In, India 11,458 new cases were recorded, bringing its total to 308,993.
Additionally, Bangladesh reported 3,141 new cases, with its hospitals reporting critical shortages of intensive care beds and ventilators.
