Music Monday New Releases: Debut EPs, Genre-Bending Rock

The music scene keeps churning in June, with a mix of fresh faces and familiar names making waves this week. Newcomers Past Life Romeo and G.H. Francis offer their debut releases, while Sohodolls unleash a darkly enthralling single, and singer-songwriter John Francis Flynn unveils his upcoming tour. Here’s a look at what’s hot this week:

Past Life Romeo releases debut EP “You Look Just Like Me”!

Sometimes Most Nights, Drew A Heart <3, Saliva and Parkingstone. That’s just a few of the songs from PLR’s debut album You Look Just Like Me. For a first record it’s actually quite a good one. I like it as the band aren’t afraid of going a little experimental with sounds

Sohodolls release deliciously dark and high-drama goth-pop single ‘Queen Of Spades’!

If I had to pick what it was, I liked about this track it’d be this; the level of angry energy, its in-your-face type attitude and that it’s certainly not afraid to spit in the face of snobbery. What’s intriguing is that its inspiration could easily been modern day, it’s actually from the Tudor era

Official music video for ‘Sick Note’ from Sonny Tennet is a heartfelt tribute to people suffering with mental health issues

Sonny Tennet isn’t sugar coating the complex issues when it comes to mental health issues and I’ve got 100% admiration for that. Rather than being the outsider Sonny shows us the world through the first-person perspective. Incredible video, loving it

G.H. Francis releases upbeat indie-rock gem ‘Without You’!

A great track and definitely one I would recommend for your summer playlist. As someone who’s a fan of numerous rock and dance sounds this one hit many of the right notes. You could either mosh, punch the air to it, or if you’re feeling really brave, dance to it.
