Ewan MacFarlane urges us to stand up for who we are in new single “Validated!”
Scottish singer-songwriter and former frontman of Grime Northern Social and Apollo 440 has released his latest musical offering, Validated, ahead of his upcoming album Always Everlong.
As a song, Validated is about being comfortable with the life choices we have made and living with them as we do. Ironically put, seeing as that sense of sentiment now carries more meaning in the last year and a half that it did from even earlier then.
This latest musical number showcases us even more of Ewan’s talent both as a singer and songwriter as well as a musician. It begins on a slow-paced note before gradually picking up momentum. As you would expect, Martin’s vocality is absolutely spot on and hit every note as well as carries feeling. In some ways it is as though he is singing only to you and you along.
Validated is a balanced single as at one end you have full of energized guitar riffs, steady drum beats, and gradual flowing harmonies and is equally as soulful, whereas on the other end you have gritty, emotive piano tunes along with Martin’s vocals which are also gritty yet soft to the ear as well. Overall, it creates a sweeping landscape that sets a tone that entices the listener the more they hear it.
