Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do

British singer songwriter Ellie Goulding’s number one single to the hit film Fifty Shades of Grey. As always, Ellie always hits the right note when it comes to her songwriting, and let’s face it, her ability to write songs is just sheer poetry.

Whenever she writes she practically bears her heart and soul also she has the profound ability to read and sing between the lines. Vocally, you can hear and feel the fire and passion in her voice whenever she sings

When you hear the lyrics to the song she sings about the passion pleasure hurt and pain of being in love and the one person you deeply love. In a way, she is singing about being in love for the first time and how it feels to feel that feeling

“You’re the cure, you’re the pain

You’re the only thing I wanna touch

Never knew that it could mean so much, so much”

The song reached number one on the UK singles charts

Foo Fighters & Co/Live Lounge All Stars- Times Like These

Originally released back in 2003 Dave Grohl, the lead singer of the American rock band Foo Fighters, wrote the song when both he and the band were at a point of uncertainty and Dave himself felt that he needed time to self-reflect. In the song, Dave expresses the need to pause and take a break.

The song was re-released again in 2020 during the national lockdown from the covid-19 pandemic. In this version, Dave brought together multiple artists as part of a special Live Lounge All-Stars cover. This version took on a whole new life of its own and transcended multiple genres.

Also, the lyrics took on a whole new meaning in the reference because with lockdown nobody was able to socialize with their nearest and dearest it reminded us what and who mattered to us most.

“To hang the stars upon tonight

I am a little divided

Do I stay or run awayAnd leave it all behind? Ah-ah-ahh”

The genius of the words reminded us of how to love and care for one another during hard and challenging times and also what it means to feel this.
