Lebanon and Israel agree to the US Maritime deal. Israel and Lebanon agree to the US Maritime deal which is a deal on the border. Israel and Lebanon have finally reached a deal after a long time. The deal is destined on a long destined maritime border. The US deal which has been brokered can unfold Israel’s way to extract and export gas to Europe. The situation was revised after the war situation between Russia and Ukraine.


The Maritime Deal


The shortage of gas is felt from the inception when there had been a war-like situation between Ukraine and Russia. There has been a shortage of energy crisis in Europe as the continent is coping with the worsening situation. The situation in Europe has worsened due to the gas crisis amidst the war between Russia and Ukraine. The deal still must be signed by the two leaders of the country. The government of Israel holds a vote to advance the maritime border deal.

The Vote: Israel Cabinet Ministers


The ministers of Israel voted on Wednesday to move a step forward in closing the deal. The cabinet ministry in totality agreed to the deal after a few hours of a smaller meeting. The US-Brokered proposal will now shift into the Knesset where the lawmakers will have 14 days to review it. The government will give its final approval after the review. Prime Minister Yair Lapid and the ministers approved the deal. He said that there is an importance and urgency in reaching a maritime agreement between Lebanon and Israel at that time.


Bennett’s Opinion


Bennett announced he will not approve the deal as he backed out of it. There had been a period of indecision made way for him to say that it should be approved in a certain situation. The situation is when the current government’s interim status is. He half-heartedly supported the agreement. Bennett said that the current deal should not be celebrated as a victorious or a deal of despair as if it cherishes disaster. He even argues about the deal not being a historic diplomatic victory but it’s also not a diplomatic one. The claims were mentioned by the opposition.
