Kylie Minogue – Golden

Pocket popster Kylie is back with her fourteenth album and it’s a case of as you were for the most part. The synth pop overtones are exactly what you’d expect so no surprises in that department. There is a noticeable leaning towards country in places as has already been suggested. Minogue’s recent fascination for Nashville and Dolly Parton in particular has rubbed off but not as much as some thought. ‘Golden’ doesn’t have an obvious killer track but it is a very consistent piece of work. Solid but not ground breaking this is still a fine effort.
