Publishers and Booksellers Guild organized city’s most awaited literary extravaganza ‘Kolkata Literature Festival’, fiesta of books, reading, stimulating talks, intellectual debates, music, and art. The 6th edition of the Kolkata Literature Festival inaugurated by Bharat Ratna and former President of India Pranab Mukherjee along with Noted Authors Sankha Ghosh, Samaresh Majumdar and Tridib Chatterjee, Honorary General Secretary, Guild and from Kolkata Literature Festival Sujata Sen, Director. More than 65 literary moguls from across the globe descended to the city of Joy to enthrall Kolkattans. The first day of Kolkata Literature festival focused on sessions like ‘The Writers from Bharat’ Representation of History and Culture through Fiction attended by Author Ashwin Sanghi moderated by Anjum Katyal.
The second session titled ‘Have Corporates Been Tamed Down’ Changing Culture , Empathy and Control was attended by Aarti Kalshikar, Dr. Shasank Shah, Avik Chanda, Rita Bhimani moderated by Sujata Sen.

The third session was very interesting titled “How Graphic Novels survive only through an exclusive Readership”: Examining The Impact On Mass Markets, Limited Awards and high Prices in association with French book office attended by Thomas Cadene, Sankha Banerjee, Malik Sajad and Appupen moderated by Pinaki De.
The fourth session was also very interesting “Dance Like A Man” How the Revocation of Section 377 Changed our Society by Sudrshan, Mahesh Dattani and Sandip Roy moderated by Pinky Kenworthy.
The fifth session of Kolkata Literature Festival observed an very interesting programme about India’s National Security Challenges: “Is the Country well Equipped?” India ‘s former deputy national security advisor Arvind Gupta moderated by former renowned BBC Journalist and well known author Subir Bhaumik.
The sixth session witnessed On winning Literary Awards by Sanjib Chattopadhyay moderated by Tridib Chatterjee.
The first day ended with a Musical Performance by very famous singer Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.
On the second day “Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor: celebrated 50 years of Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayen” with famous Bollywood Actor Tinnu Anand, Director Sandip Ray, Actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty,. .
On the third day a session was very interesting titled “From Screen To Stage: The Magic of Live Performance” by author and famous bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla in conversation with Samarjit Guha.
