James Comey Accused Donald Trump as Morally Unfit to be President

Former FBI director James Comey blasts Donald Trump of being ‘morally unfit’ to be president and says he treats women like ‘pieces of meat’ in his first television interview on Tuesday, in support of his new book, ‘A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership’.
James Comey in his first exclusive interview since he was fired last May said “I don’t think he’s medically unfit to be president. I think he’s morally unfit to be president” of the US.
“A person who sees moral equivalence in Charlottesville, who talks about and treats women like they’re pieces of meat, who lies constantly about matters big and small and insists the American people believe him that person is not fit to be president of the United States on moral grounds.”
Yet Comey said he does not wish for Trump’s impeachment because that “would let the American people off the hook.”
“People in this country need to stand up and go to the voting booth and vote their values,” Comey said. “And impeachment in a way would short-circuit that.”
Mr Trump pre-empted the interview on Twitter on Sunday by saying Mr Comey was the “worst FBI director in history” and questioning his integrity.
Ahead of the interview, Trump fired off a series of tweets calling the country’s former top cop a “slimeball,” a liar and directly refuted claims he asked Comey for his loyalty.
“I often hear people talk about it. I don’t buy this stuff about him being mentally incompetent or early stages of dementia. He strikes me as a person of above average intelligence who’s tracking conversations and knows what’s going on,” Comey said.
“I hope not – but the honest answer is, it wouldn’t have changed the way I think about it,” Comey said. He added he hoped people would read his book “A Higher Loyalty” and put themselves in his shoes.
