British Academy Summer Showcase for Curious Minds

The British Academy can’t wait to receive you as their visitor at their first ever Summer Showcase event. If you are at all into the world of ideas and often ask yourself what makes us human, this is the event for you!
This festival of ideas will take place over two days and there will be plenty to get involved in.
There will be many leading thinkers carrying out a wide range of talks on subjects such as music, geography and psychology – fields in which they are conducting ground breaking research.
Visitors will also be able to get stuck in by taking part in a series of hands-on activities, as well as enjoying some live music.
As a visitor you will take a look at retro videogames with an Wild West touch, you will receive tips on how you can sleep better and enjoy music by a South African jazz musician who will also be explaining the philosophy and work behind his compositions.
The first ever Summer Showcase will be taking place on the 22 and 23 of June, with the opening times being between 11am and 5pm.
The festival is free to attend but if it is going to be more than 8 of you you will have to book in advance. There is also a special late-night showing with drinks at the bar on the 22 June which also has to be booked in advance.
You can find more information on the event here. You can also email them at [email protected].
