Incredibles 2

Superheroes are still outlawed despite them trying to save the world from destruction. Heroes are made to live in secrecy, taking on different identities and living normal lives. Not everyone agrees with the way superheroes are being treated. Entrepreneur Winston Deavor wants people to see what good heroes do for society and for them to be made legal again.
And so starts the make-superheroes-legal-again campaign with Elastigirl taken on board to do some good PR for the whole of the superhero race. Mr. Incredible takes on the role of stay-at-home dad while Elastigirl heads out into the world to save people from danger and kick ass. Everything seems to be moving smoothly when a new threat arises, Screenslaver.
It has been 14 years since the first Incredibles film but it has definitely been worth it. Incredibles 2 is a fun movie that people of all ages can enjoy. What is more, don’t be surprised if you go to see it and it’s mostly adults watching, people who were children back when they watched and loved the first installment fourteen years ago.
The action sequences are great. Comic relief comes as Jack Jack, the baby Incredible, starts developing a wide array of superpowers and the rest of the family try to deal with them. The main plot of the film, that of defeating Screenslaver while trying to get superheroes legalised, is entertainingly accompanied by smaller, fun and more mundane story lines.
If you’re just looking for a fun watch this is the film to see. But, aside from its entertaining plot, the film also delivers a lesson in gender equality and the increasing importance of technology in our lives. Elastigirl is the one selected to change the fate of superheroes everywhere, which slightly bruises Mr. Incredible’s male ego as he is made to stay at home. Meanwhile, Screenslaver seems to be a metaphor of how screens are taking over all aspects of our lives.
It is safe to say that Incredibles 2 is a great film that most people will enjoy!
