Stars of the entertainment world reacted optimistically about England’s World Cup chances after yesterday’s (24 June) victory against Panama.
The national team won 6-1 23 June in Russia with a hat-trick by Harry Kane, two goals by John Stones and another by Jesse Lingard.
England have one more match in the group stage and will play Belgium on Thursday (28 June). Then they will go on to the quarter-finals, where they will play either the runner-up or winner of Group H, depending on where they end.
In response to yesterday’s victory, Liam Gallagher tweeted the simple statement, “It’s coming home.” Wolf Alice have meanwhile renamed her name to “Harry Kane the band” on Twitter.
Rebecca Taylor of Slow Club tweeted, “It’s coming home rate hard today innit.” Comedian David Baddiel added, “I have to say just at the moment it would be appear to have at least set off on its way home.”
Camila Cabello also unexpectedly joined in the celebrations. A video of herself singing with a group of friends has appeared online where she was singing “Harry Kane, he’s one of our own”.
Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher refused to head to the headline on the Isle of Wight yesterday because of the World Cup. The former Oasis frontman was ahead topped the bill on Saturday to enjoy England’s match last day.
