Expelling 60 US Diplomats, Russia to Shut Down U.S. Consulate in St. Petersburg

Russia is expelling 60 US consulate in a response to Donald Trump’s sanctions following the poisoning of a Russian spy in England and also closing down the U.S. consulate in St. Petersburg.
In a response to the recent cold war where two dozens countries expelled around 60 Russian diplomats, Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, said the Kremlin would expel the same number of diplomats from each country in a retaliatory measure.
The measures would be reciprocal … They include expulsion of the equivalent number of diplomats and they include our decision to withdraw our agreement to allow the United States’ general consulate to operate in St. Petersburg,” Sergey Lavrov said in a press briefing.
Regarding this issue, Jon Huntsman, the US ambassador in Moscow said there was “no justification” for the move and that it showed Moscow was not interested in dialogue with the United States about important matters.
Sergey Skripal, the former Russian spy who was convicted in Russia of providing information to the United Kingdom, still remains in critical condition. His daughter Yulia is out of danger for now confirmed by the English Hospital on Thursday.
