The Guitar and Ukulele lesson

  • Exercise 1: Fretting the Basic Chords
    • Learn how to fret the basic chords of the guitar or ukulele, such as C, G, Am, and F.
    • Practice strumming these chords to get a feel for how they sound.
  • Exercise 2: Changing Chords
    • Once you can fret the basic chords, practice changing between them smoothly.
    • Start by changing between two chords, such as C and G.
    • Gradually increase the number of chords you change between.
  • Exercise 3: Playing Songs
    • Once you can change chords smoothly, start playing simple songs.
    • There are many resources available online and in music stores that can help you find songs that are appropriate for your level.
  • Exercise 4: Fingerpicking
    • Finger picking is a technique that allows you to play more complex melodies and harmonies on the guitar or ukulele.
    • There are many resources available online and in music stores that can teach you how to finger pick.
  • Exercise 5: Playing with Others
    • Playing with others is a great way to improve your skills and have fun.
    • Find a friend who also plays the guitar or ukulele and start jamming together.
