In the final hours of his presidency, Donald Trump has pardoned his former strategist Steve Bannon amongst others including financiers, and former members of the Congress. He has officially left the White House with Melanie Trump by his side.
In his final hours as the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump has pardoned Steve Bannon who was arrested last year over allegations of misusing funds from the Build the Wall fundraiser.
He has pardoned 73 others including Elliot Broidy, a former fundraiser who was charged to illegally lobby the US government and deport an exiled Chinese billionaire. Also on the list were Ken Kurson, Rapper Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick amongst many others.
Just a few moments ago, Donald Trump departed from the White House after his farewell speech and is now currently on his way to Florida. He has left a note for his successor Joe Biden before he left the Oval office. The note to the new president is a longstanding tradition between successive presidents and are meant to stay private.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden is attending a church service in Washington. He will take the oath of office in less than an hours’ time. Kamala Harris, the Vice-president elect, the first lady, Dr. Jill Biden will also be joining the inauguration.
