The popular series ‘Peaky Blinders’ is going to come back as a movie after the show ends, confirm the series creator Steven Knight. Puza Snigdha reports.
On 18th January the showrunner announced that the BAFTA-winning period gangster epic series will conclude its sixth season but will continue the story “in another form.”
BBC and Netflix drama were supposed to run up until season seven. Due to the COVID-19 situation the production got delayed.
“Covid changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That is what is going to happen,” said Steven Knight.
Talking about the upcoming season, Caryn Mandabach, the executive producer reassurance the fans that they won’t be disappointed. He also said that the movie “be the best one yet”.
Knight teased about the returning of Peaky gang and hours later he confirmed the news. “Peaky is back and with a bang.”
“We are very excited that filming for Peaky Blinders has begun and so grateful to everyone for all their hard work to make it happen. Steve’s scripts for series six are truly remarkable and provide a fitting send-off which we are sure will delight fans,” said Tommy Bulfin, Executive Producer for the BBC.
Previously, Knigh said he will do a movie of the hit show. He is keeping his words.
However, there’s no release date for either season six or the movie yet but fans are already overwhelmed.
