Donald Glover Campaigns for Adidas New Launch

Multi-talented actor Donald Grover has joined the campaigning for Adidas original and officially launch “Donald Glover Presents” which includes a capsule of footwear and a series of short films.
Revealing the partnership of Adidas & Grover were started in last September, Grover released five short films for the launch of his shoe line which will feature three Adidas shoe styles—the Nizza, Continental 80, and Lacombe.
The short films, Timber, 1985, Avocado, Dusty and Polenta are comedic in style where academy Award-winning actress and comedian Mo’Nique, will be seen in every five short film.
“With this project, I wanted to encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet. Value isn’t quantified by what you wear, rather the experiences from them. And you make the decision on what works for you, you live through your own lens. The partnership for me is about being able to exemplify what doing your own thing truly looks and feels like,” said Glover.
Seeking to inform a tale via layout, the footwear feature a sequence of deconstructed info, like choppy sewing, internal-out golden eyestays, and a custom three-Stripe mark that inspires hand-painting. Heightening a feel of intensity and character, the edges of the canvas aren’t stitched down, letting them fray over the years.
The coloring on the iconic 3-Stripes looks hand painted. Even the canvas of the sneakers and the laces themselves are made to encourage fraying, adding more “story” the more you wear them.
“To encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet,” said Glover.
All three styles of the new shoes will officially release on adidas.com beginning on April 26th.
