Dark Waters tells the tale of slimy corporate lawyer Robert Bilott, an expert in his field who focuses on helping big time companies get away with pollution without technically breaking any laws.
He gets a call from an old family friend and after visiting witnesses first hand the impact the pollution has, on both animal and human life in the area. Dark Waters is a true legal thriller of the lawyer who switched sides from defending the big corporations, using his knowledge of how they play the systems against them.
Mark Ruffalo takes on the title lead here and what we have here is a legal battle that feels like it has significant weight behind it at all times.
