Bianca Del Rio, best known for winning RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 is now clowning around on tour and is on her way to Wembley Stadium where she is the first ever drag queen to headline the historic arena in her 2019 tour, ‘It’s Jester Joke’.
Roy Haylock, the man behind the queen, has been using his sharp comedic wits to delight fans of drag to come and see Bianca on tour since his win on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 against fellow friends and queens Adore Delano and Celebrity Big Brother UK 2018 winner Courtney Act.
Drag Race Days
Bianca Del Rio first came on to our radars in 2014 for the 6th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in which she won over the audiences with her comedic shady antics whilst being a kind and paternal figure to her fellow contestants. Del Rio has also gone down as one of the few queens of Drag Race to snatch the crown without landing in the bottom 2 during her respective season.
Del Rio has many iconic moments on the show ranging from her slaying the stand up comedy challenge with her sharp wit and execution to a crowd of pensioners; executing polished looks; performing as Judge Judy for the infamous Snatch Game episode and as well as delivering the show’s most iconic quotes and phrases like “Not today Satan, not today.”
Clown Realness
Bianca Del Rio’s career after Drag Race had soared through her comedy tours, her first was in 2014 called ‘The Rolodex of Hate Tour’ later followed by the ‘Not Today Satan Tour’ in 2016. In the same year, Del Rio released a film called ‘Hurricane Bianca’. Del Rio plays a school teacher who gets fired for being gay, who then reapplies to the school as her drag counterpart and gets the job and plots sweet revenge at the headmistress.
Soon after her own film, she would later tour again with ‘Blame It On Bianca Del Rio’ in 2017 to 2018. In 2018, Del Rio would release the sequel to her film called ‘Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate’. this sequel featured an array of Drag Race alumni from Shangela, who also plays a small role in 2018 film ‘A Star is Born’. In addition to Katya, who is renowned for using a Russian accent in her drag ensemble which was shown in Katya’s respective season of Drag Race after Del Rio’s.
Bianca also performed in the West End earlier this year, where she was cast as Loco Chanelle in ‘Everybody is talking about Jamie’, an older drag queen who advises the main protagonist Jamie back in May-June.
It’s Jester Joke
For her 4th respective tour, Del Rio returns this year to tour with her clown etiquette. Her remarkable success has brought her the crowning achievement of being the first ever drag queen to headline Wembley Arena on the 21st September. Del Rio discussed her monumental achievement on Good Morning Britain, where she also plugged her self help book.
