In today’s fast-paced digital world, the digital divide is more visible than ever. While many of us take internet access and online services for granted, countless individuals remain disconnected from essential tools and opportunities. From booking a doctor’s appointment to applying for a job or managing everyday finances, the shift to online services has left some behind.
That’s why we’re proud to announce that WhatsOn.Agency is now listed as one of the official Digital Inclusion Centers in Birmingham—a collaborative initiative designed to tackle digital inequality head-on.
What Are Digital Inclusion Centers?
The Digital Inclusion Centers are part of a citywide initiative led by the Digital Neighborhoods Network, created to ensure that everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—has the opportunity to develop essential digital skills.
These centers offer:
- Free digital skills support
- 1:1 coaching and group sessions
- Help accessing devices and digital services
- Support with everyday online tasks like email, video calls, and accessing government services
The goal is simple: to build digital confidence and reduce isolation. Whether someone is a total beginner or just looking to brush up on specific skills, the Digital Inclusion Centers are a welcoming space to learn.
WhatsOn Agency’s Role in the Digital Inclusion Movement
As part of this network, WhatsOn.Agency offers not only free digital skills training but also a free data bank service at our central Birmingham location.

We understand that digital access is more than just having the skills—it’s also about having the means. That’s why we’ve partnered with the National Databank initiative to provide free SIM cards, along with monthly allowances of mobile data, texts, and calls for eligible individuals.
With this free data bank service, our team supports people who are:
- Struggling to afford mobile data or Wi-Fi at home
- Trying to stay connected to family, services, or employment opportunities
- Facing isolation due to a lack of digital access
Alongside this, we also help individuals:
- Navigate the internet safely
- Use smartphones, tablets, or laptops confidently
- Access essential online services such as healthcare, banking, and job boards
- Improve confidence with tech tools
Why Digital Inclusion and Free Data Matter
A recent UK Government report shows that over 10 million adults in the UK still lack basic digital skills—and a significant portion are also digitally excluded due to lack of data or device access.
At WhatsOn.Agency, we believe that no one should be left behind. That’s why our work in Birmingham focuses not only on teaching tech but also removing barriers to access—starting with our free data bank service.
Whether it’s a young job seeker, an elderly resident needing help with video calls, or a family trying to access online learning—we are here to help them stay connected.
