Charlie Day has modeled the new football kit for Wrexham FC on Rob McElhenney’s TikTok account.
The actor posted a video of a confused Charlie Day posing on his brand-new kit on Instagram.
One of the first non-players to be seen in the kit was Rob’s ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ co-star Charlie Day.
In the video, he asks how much he’s getting paid before bringing it to an end when he finds out the truth.
McElhenney replying “Who’s they?” before Day asks “TikTok? The football team? What am I doing here? I’m not getting paid for this?!”
Wrexham next season will recognize co-chairman Rob McElhenney’s hometown of Philadelphia, with the green of the city’s most known team, the Philadelphia Eagles – as well as the collar and unique lace unlike anything in football.
The back of the shirt is just as personal, with the words ‘It’s Always Sunny…’ stitched in tribute to ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ – Rob’s award-winning comedy shows.
Co-chairman Rob McElhenney said: “I’m delighted that this kit brings together two of my great loves: Wrexham AFC and Philadelphia.
“I hope we build great memories together, in this famous green.”
The club has launched this Philadelphia-inspired away kit for the upcoming 2021-22 season in honor of co-owner RobMcElhenney.
