Celebs Join Animal Aid's Summer Vegan Pledge

Architects Frontman Sam Carter and I Killed The Prom Queen Guitarist Jona Weinhofen are supporting the animal rights organisation Animal Aid this year in their Summer Vegan Pledge campaign.
The purpose of the project is to encourage individuals to try out the vegan diet for a month – the whole of June – in a hope that it will prompt them to make some significant lifestyle changes and refrain from eating meat (and other animal-based food products) in the future.
The celebrities have joined the organisation in their pursuit to promote the Summer Vegan Pledge and its benefits. The 30-day pledge is an annual initiative put on by the company to reach out to non-vegans and get them involved.
Signing up is free, and all participants are given the information and support they need to proceed with the pledge across the course of its takeover in June.
Getting involved doesn’t stop with the pledge; after signing up people can access a load of resources that will help them with their plant-based food journey.
This includes a welcome pack filled with recipes, advice about nutrition, tips on shopping and more, as well as regular updates designed to keep you motivated and informed.
You will also receive tips via the different media channels (exclusive to participants), details about vegan events & special offers and, if needed, one-to-one guidance.
Jona Weinhofen commented: “I decided to go vegan in 2000 when I began to learn about how animals are exploited and killed because of my consumer choices. I didn’t want to contribute to it any longer so I decided to give veganism a try. Since going vegan my health has thrived and I put on more weight and muscle. I’ve never felt better.”
Sam Carter added: “I went vegan 6 years ago and I never looked back. It is great knowing that I’m doing my bit not to create harm to any living being or the environment, while at the same time I’m feeling healthier and giving my body exactly what it needs nutrient-wise.”
Animal Aid Vegan Outreach Campaign Manager, Tod Bradbury, said: “The Summer Vegan Pledge is the perfect opportunity for those who care about animals, the environment and their health to try a plant-based diet for a month.
“It has never been easier to go vegan, with new vegan options coming to supermarket shelves, coffee shops, independent shops, health food shops and restaurants seemingly on a daily basis.
“By taking the Summer Vegan Pledge you will be helping animals and the planet, and also making positive changes for your health, so why not give it a go?”
It’s true – joining the vegan community has never been more simple – so get involved now! Trying something new will make you feel healthier and better about the environment, so it is well worth pursuing.
