Celebrate National BBQ Week not being Strict on Grilling

Everyone loves summer, sunshine and of course BBQ’s, well at least pretty much most of us do, as it’s a great opportunity to get outside, chill, enjoy life alfresco and of course some great Barbi food & drink.
For the 22nd year running the nation is heading towards the depths of the garden shed, ceremoniously removing the plastic cover and welcoming back into the garden the beloved barbecue, for National BBQ Week. From the 28th May to 3rd June 2018, up and down the country, restaurants, pubs and homes will all be encouraged to fire up the grill, filling the air with the smells and sounds of summer.
As Europe’s leading BBQ nation, Britain awaits this week with great anticipation, each individual ready to show off their own master-searing skills and secret-recipe marinades.
The year 2018 should really be made the BBQ part of summer menu. Keep it simple and colourful with fruit and vegetable skewers and meltingly tender pork medallions or go big with whole Szechuan smoked duck.
People came a long way from those dim, dark days back in 1997 when National BBQ Week was first launched and the typical notion was “if it ain’t burnt, it ain’t barbi”. In fact National BBQ Week has not only helped change all of our attitudes towards BBQ and summer eating, it’s also helped grow the BBQ market from just 9 million BBQ occasions back then to over 130 million in 2017 and all the indications are that they’ll be even more this year!
It’s not only about the grilling and eating delicious foods but also are a great way to get together with friends and family. Add some wine or ice cold beer, good music and good company to celebrate National BBQ Week with more joy.
