Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum is an art museum located in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Being one of Kings County’s preeminent cultural New York attractions, the 560,000-square-foot Brooklyn Museum made history as the first American art museum to exhibit African objects as artwork.
Its commanding Beaux-Arts structure, designed by McKim, Mead and White, was set to become the largest art institution in the world, back in 1895. After decades of lagging maintenance, the museum revived itself in the last two decades of the twentieth century via massive renovations designed to reposition its famed holdings of ancient Egyptian antiquities and century-spanning American Art. In almost a century, the museum’s most dramatic physical change is a glass entryway with a tiered roof that echoes the original grand stairway that was dismantled as a safety hazard.
Beyond its art shows, the spot draws crowds with its BrooklyNites Jazz music series and the perennially popular free Target First Saturdays. Apart from this Brooklyn Museum Shop, which offers handmade wares from local designers and artisans.
The museum is open on Wednesday, Friday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm, Thursday from 11am to10pm.
The tour of museum costs $15 to $21 and tickets are available on spot.
