Leftist presidential candidate of Brazil Fernando Haddad has narrowed the lead of his right-wing rival Jair Bolsonaro. According to two polls published on the eve of the election ahead of Sunday’s election runoff, the survey result gave him 46% compared with Bolsonaro’s 54%.
Haddad needs to win five percentage points to overtake the right-wing former army officer. As only two candidates remain and those figures discard voters who say they will annul their vote.However, Haddad’s prospects of overhauling Bolsonaro were bent once he did not win the crucial endorsement of former centre-left candidate Ciro Gomes on a weekday.
