Beyonce and Jay-Z Fan Charged with Battery due to Rushing on Stage

A man has been charged after he ran onstage and chased after Beyonce and Jay-Z during the music duo’s “On The Run II” tour stop in Atlanta, police said Sunday.
Atlanta Police officer Lisa Bender told The Associated Press that 26-year-old Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell was charged with simple battery after inciting chaos at the end of the couple’s concert Saturday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Police say Maxwell was quickly stopped by security people and backup dancers with the rapper.
Maxwell was reportedly treated for minor injuries and issued a citation for disorderly conduct before being released by police.
Following the incident, a statement released by tour organisers said The Carters had chosen not to press charges.
“At the end of last night’s show, we had an intoxicated male enter the stage,” the statement read. “At this point, we had a controlled evacuation of all crew on the stage in order to safely defuse the situation. We are happy to confirm that nobody was hurt during the incident, and Mr & Mrs Carter are choosing not to press charges against the individual.
“We would like to thank the hard work of our tour security who effectively restrained the individual and all of our dancers and team who handled the situation so professionally.”
