Approximately, 1, 500 people are threatened to lose their jobs as the retailer Homebase has officially released a statement that around 42 stores are going to be closed due to low performance of shops.
Even due to those unfortunate circumstances, the Homebase boss Damian McGloughlin has commented: “This has been a difficult time for many of our team members and I am very grateful for their continued support and hard work.”
“We can look to the future with great confidence, and we will be working closely with our suppliers to capitalise on the opportunities we see in the home improvement market in the UK and Ireland”, he added.
Some of the stores that are closing down will be in Aberdeen, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Exeter, London and Southhampton.
