An exhibition of more than 60 images by photographer Neil Martinson goes on display at Stour Space from 1-22 Feb. It is possibly the largest collection of unseen Hackney images from the 70s and 80s. It was a time when there was large scale manufacturing and Hackney still bore the scars of post-war slum clearance.
Many of Neil Martinson images and works were used in books, local campaigns on housing, nurseries, education and trade union rights, in national newspapers and magazines in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery.
