Potentially putting UK jobs at risk, Airbus is going stop the production of the A380 super-jumbo which is the world’s largest passenger double-decker jet that earned glorification from passengers but failed to win over enough airlines to justify its massive costs.
Airbus gave the statement on Thursday the last A380 will be delivered in 2021.
The firm said it would stop conveyances of the A380 in 2021 after Dubai-based carrier Emirates diminished its request of the model by 39 planes.

“Following a review of its operations, and in light of developments in aircraft and engine technologies, Emirates is reducing its A380 orderbook from 162 to 123 aircraft,” saying this Airbus
added “as a consequence and given the lack of order backlog with other airlines, Airbus will cease deliveries of the A380 in 2021.”
3,500 jobs are going to be affected by the decision of Airbus.
“Today’s announcement is painful for us and the A380 communities worldwide,” said Tom Enders, Airbus Chief Executive Office.
