Starring Aaron Paul: ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie is to Air on Netflix

Jessie Pickman aka Aaron Paul is to be back on ‘Breaking Bad’ movie which is is apparently coming to the world’s most popular streaming service, Netflix this year.
The streaming giant has landed the initial broadcast rights to a feature-film sequel to the hit series, according to a report. The movie, which will focus on Jesse Pinkman—the oft-troubled meth-cooker played by Aaron Paul.
The original show was set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and what little is known about the film project comes from a 2018 report in the Albuquerque Journal. That report said the story line would track “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”
In an interesting twist, the movie will reportedly air on Netflix before it appears on AMC, the show’s original network. In the past, the series would air on AMC before it was available on Netflix, but the streaming giant is often credited with the show’s popularity.
Last year, Netflix shared some data that revealed Breaking Bad to be the most binged show on its platform. In a interviews creator Vince Gilligan has discussed how instrumental the streamer was in spreading the show’s reach.
“I think Netflix kept us on the air,” he said back in 2013. “Not only are we standing up here, I don’t think our show would have even lasted beyond season two. … It’s a new era in television, and we’ve been very fortunate to reap the benefits.”
Star Bryan Cranston confirmed last month that there was definitely be a Breaking Bad movie in the works, but he didn’t let anyone know if his Walter White could make a return.
“Let’s put it to rest,” Cranston told Jimmy Fallon in a show “I can say and announce tonight, in front of your audience – exclusive announcement – that I can confirm that there is a Breaking Bad movie.”
