A Step Towards Encouraging Women's Education

Education is an essential part of a living being, whether it’s a boy or a girl. Education helps an individual to be smarter, to learn new things and to know about the facts of the world. It also plays important roles in Women Empowerment.
Keeping that in mind and taking forward to West Bengal Government’s Initiative of Kanyasree, a eastern India based private company came forward by saluting the fighting spirit of underprivileged girl children and has taken the responsibility to provide scholarships to 20 Underprivileged girl students who have struggled in their lives yet have excelled in Board Exams.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Honorable Minister-in-charge Power & Non-conventional Energy Sources, Government of West Bengal, Ms. Baishali Dalmiya, MLA from Bally of West Bengal, Ms. Smita Bakshi, MLA from Jorasanko of West Bengal and Mr. Sayan Deb Chatterjee State Secretary-West Bengal Trinamool Youth Congress(WBTMYC) etc.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Shalini Biswas, Managing Director of that company, said: “Women empowerment has always been close to my heart. I have always been impelled to help those girls who have worked hard to become something in their life. Now we have taken the initiative to provide 20 meritorious girl students with a supply of stationary products through a year. This is just the first step and we hope to make a bigger difference in the future.”
The occasion also witnessed the support of great personality of the city like Sharbari Dutta, Sudeshna Roy, Agnimitra Paul, Jaya seal, Ushoshi Sengupta, Alokananda Roy, Shradha Agarwal, Jonathan Ward, Rita Bimani, Maina Bhagat, Anjum Katiyal and many more.
This is the first ever initiative taken by them. The company was formed with the goal of partnering with schools to provide quality products at affordable prices. The brand aims at coming up with items that are consistent in quality and designs that are creatively unique in their own way.
This year is very important for the company as they want to expand their business in a way that the brand is accessible to more and more students of the country.
As of now, they have already tied up with 140 schools in Eastern India and have been successful in marking their presence in Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and the North-Eastern states. In this financial year the company wants to expand nationally and looks forward to be tie up with 350 more schools.
The company started their journey in the year of 2008. The company’s main goal is to partner with schools to provide quality products at affordable prices. They have products like Notebooks, Drawing Books, Scrap Books, synthetic covers, practical books, Graph books and will continue adding to range in the future as well. Currently they are present in West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Assam and Jharkhand.
