A Love Letter to Europe: An Outpouring of Sadness and Hope

Author: Various
Brexit is at the forefront of many people’s minds. A Love Letter to Europe was released on the 31st October. The thought behind this decision must have been that it would be poetic releasing this collection of moving essays on the day the UK left the European Union.
This book and the leave date delay are evidence that we live in a divided society and that, despite the outcome of the referendum, some people are still fighting off Brexit. It is indeed a A Love Letter to Europe. A selection of Britain’s greatest artists, writers, musicians and thinkers – including the likes of Mary Beard, Shami Chakrabarti, J.K. Rowling, amongst others – open up about what being a part of Europe has meant to them and how it has made their lives richer.
The contributors have clearly written from the heart. Some of the essays are rather amusing, others deeply moving and nostalgic. But they all have one thing in common and that is feeling. This book will undoubtedly move many and will, in years to come, become a nostalgic souvenir of our time as members of the EU.
